Insulation TypeInsulation type determines how well the sleeping bag retains heat. There are two main types: down and synthetic. Down insulation is lightweight, compressible, and offers excellent warmth, making it ideal for cold, dry conditions. For better warmth, a snugger fit might be more suitable.
Zipper ConfigurationZipper configuration affects how easy it is to get in and out of the sleeping bag and how well it can be ventilated. Some double sleeping bags have zippers on both sides, allowing each person to enter and exit independently. Others have a single zipper, which can be less convenient.
