GainGain measures how well an antenna can pick up signals. It is usually expressed in decibels (dB). Directional antennas are ideal if all the broadcast towers are located in the same direction from your home. Multi-directional antennas are better if towers are scattered in different directions. Size and InstallationThe size of the antenna can affect both its performance and ease of installation. Larger antennas generally have better reception but can be more challenging to install in an attic space. Smaller antennas are easier to install but may not perform as well in areas with weak signals. Consider the space available in your attic and your ability to install the antenna. If you have limited space or prefer a simpler installation, a compact antenna might be the best choice.
AmplificationAmplified antennas come with built-in signal boosters to enhance reception. This is particularly useful if you are far from broadcast towers or have many obstacles that weaken the signal. Amplification can make a significant difference in signal quality, but it can also introduce noise if not properly designed. If you struggle with weak signals, an amplified antenna can help. However, if you already have strong signals, a non-amplified antenna might be sufficient.

Weather-resistant antennas are built to withstand these conditions and maintain performance over time. This spec is important for ensuring long-term reliability.
